Four of Cornwall’s VCSE organisations agree to join together

The aim is to provide better and more joined-up services to meet the social and economic challenges we all face over the coming years, while still maintaining the objective of working in partnership. All four organisations already work closely together on a range of projects and share some directors between boards.

The outcome of these discussions is that the organisations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding as a next step to developing a new legal structure. Representatives of the four organisations will be meeting regularly over the next few months to reach an outcome that works in everyone’s best interests. Each will communicate with their own members, partners and stakeholders for further dialogue.

It is hoped that the new structure places the organisations in an excellent position to respond to the challenge of supporting people in a continued climate of change and reducing resources. The group will seek new ways of working in partnership with the public and private sectors to deliver services to those in need.

The Learning Partnership for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly (LPCo)

LPCo supports young people and unemployed adults, employers and the workforce in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly in partnership through a network of VCSE organisations, private training providers, colleges and businesses. www.cornwall-learning-partnership.org

Nature Workshops (trading name for Earth Health Ltd)

Nature Workshops is a training and research agency using the natural world as a classroom for accredited and non accredited learning, research and consultation working with some of Cornwall’s most vulnerable people. Training includes Forest School and Water Safety and academic research has been published looking at the impact of immersive woodland experiences on adolescent mental health. www.natureworkshops.co.uk

Safer Stronger Consortium (SSC)

SSC’s partner organisations have unique expertise in supporting and working with those at risk, including offenders and ex-offenders, young people, victims of crime including domestic and sexual abuse, those with learning disabilities or difficulties, and other vulnerable groups. www.saferstronger.com

Cornwall Voluntary Sector Forum (VSF)

The VSF is the voice of the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector in Cornwall. Its aim is to work with others to create a thriving voluntary sector that effectively serves Cornwall and its people. www.cornwallvsf.org
